Ontario Announces Updated Gaming Market

Ontario Gambling Market

Ontario has provided some messages on its current iGaming marketplace for private operators looking to legally operate in the region’s regulated gaming industry. According to the Ontario Alcohol and Gambling Commission, the activation of the new iGaming mode will be rejected for a certain time, it is expected to appear in the first quarter of 2022.

AGCO said it is now accepting applications from partners who want to be part of the new market. Applications are being accepted by the iGaming subsidiary Ontario, which will issue licenses early next year. Licensed operators will be able to offer special sports betting.

Small Delay

iGaming Ontario will begin creating the conditions for private agreements with applicants, a process due to be completed in a few weeks. In the summer, the province released a list of the terms of the agreement, and the projects are now available to gambling partners who were previously noted through the iGaming Ontario resource. They signed all the clauses of the agreement.

Gambling operators should also start committing with gambling commission, which is mandatory for all partners in real-time. This will affect all those who wish to offer regulated gambling in the provinces in the future. Fixing is carried out through the AGCO resource, and the commission already has the conditions for this and information. All this helps operators when applying.

AGCO and iGaming Ontario have informed new operators that they need to completely shut down all of their illegal gambling services in real-time to review and qualify for a license. They should also terminate contracts with other organizations operating in the gray market, as the commission wants players to move from unregulated gambling establishments to legal ones.

The iGaming Ontario market will change and get slightly better from early 2022 as iGaming Ontario rules are to be finalized with new partners. It is believed that a modern online casino gaming environment will be a huge step for the province as it can provide a competitive market for all stakeholders and offer players more choice.
